In the midst of a global pandemic, people from all walks of life are answering…
Gloucester County, NJ manufacturer, LAMATEK Inc. kicked off Manufacturing Day 2018 with a proclamation by Gloucester County Freeholder, Heather Simmons, for their 35th Anniversary in business. Students and faculty from Gloucester County Institute of Technology met with our team for a firsthand look at the day-to-day operations, as well as problem solving and the exciting challenges that accompany a job in manufacturing. The students were presented with in depth knowledge of safety, manufacturing history and a wide range of career paths that are available in the field.
LAMATEK’s annual MFG Day open house included facility tours, games, prizes, lunch, and even some augmented reality. Also present were Members of the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders, as well as the Department for Economic Development and the Workforce Development Board.
President and CEO, Bob Carlson said of the event, “… it blows my mind. This company isn’t this building; it isn’t the sign out front, or the machines we use to produce our products. It’s the people who work here. We’re a team and we’re a very effective team.”
Partners, Kyle Larsson and Bob Carlson opened LAMTEK’s doors on October 1, 1983 in an 1800 square foot garage. The company now resides in a 92,000 square foot facility in West Deptford and celebrates 35 years of manufacturing success.
